Pebele interview
Apr. 24th, 2006 10:22 am1. When did you first know that you were transgendered?
I was a "late bloomer." You hear all these stories of people "knowing since they were a little child" and all of that. Well, my first hints were around 13-14, but I repressed that untill about 21, when I locked myself in a closet and refused to come out (literally). When I did, I ended up throwing a bayonette at the wall, which left a mark that I purposefully have not repaired, as a reminder of why I don't need to repress who I am and what I feel.
2. What is your favorite book? why?
You had to ask this. Ugh. I've so many of them. Probably Enders Game by OSC. but Heinlein, Spider Robinson, Mccaffrey, and so many others are all screaming for attention. Bossibly Foundation by Asamov... oogh. Catch-22? 1984? So many possibilities....
3. Who was your bigget influence when you were growing up?
It was, and to large extent still is, my dad. As I stated a couple of posts ago, I'm an inventor-geek. I got that mentality from him, though he doesn't really do it with computers, he does it with everything else he can get his hands on. I still want to get better at woodworking, but I've never had the chance too :/
I wish he wasn't having such a hard time with my transition. I miss having him not weirded out by my presence, and I wish I could show him some of the stuff I've come up with.
4. What's your greatest guilty pleasure?
Well, I don't know that any of my pleasures would really be considered guilty, but about the closest is taking a day long nap under a tree on a nice sunny spring day when it doesn't rain on me.
Or an Anne Mcaffrey book ;P
5. What's your favorite quote?
"Shared sorrow is divided, while shared joy multiplies."
-Spider Robinson
at least for right now
If you want to play:
001. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."
002. I will respond by asking you five questions of a very intimate and creepily personal nature. Or not so creepy/personal.
003. You WILL update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
004. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the post.
005. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.
