I understand, and yes this was a hetero based argument. No biggie there. The issue I have is not with getting drunk at a bar, nor hitting on women at a bar.. though that can get annoying as drunk people are noticeably less likely to pick up on or pay attention to social cues. I also know you well enough to know that you would back of of someone if they said no.. the people involved in the other discussion have a bit more disregard for that word. My real issue is one of consent.
A legal contract can be invalidated (http://legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/Contracts) because one of the signatories is intoxicated, and I would say that a woman's right to bodily integrity is just as important as any legal contract.
I don't even really have an issue with people meeting up at a bar while drunk and getting it on. I think it's a bad idea, but I've no right to tell people what to do with their life. This conversation was not regarding that however, it was regarding a situation where as person was expressing regret that he missed a chance to have a shot at someone who was "drunk and easy."
